A father of three was approached by two thugs in a car and killed in a row over a spilt drink
Malik Hussain became the unfortunate target of a brutal murder committed, by a drug-dealing duo in Birmingham. He was dragged out of his car and attacked with a knife, before being stamped on and left to die in the street.
Birmingham Crown Court heard how drug lord brothers Adeeb Mirza and Haseeb Mirza were lurking outside of Pandora’s Box Nightclub in Digbeth on a night in July of last year.
The pair, from St Benedict’s Road, Small Heath, were approached by Malik Hussain and a friend as they were looking to purchase cocaine. The potential customers got into their vehicle, but they then received another call to do a drop-off elsewhere and drove away.
At around 11:19 pm, the Volkswagen Gold they were riding in parked up at Baker Street, Sparkhill. Mr Hussain received four fatal stab wounds from Adeeb Mirza, after an alleged row over a spilt drink. He was then left to die on the street in the company of his friend.
Adeeb Mirza, clearly showing no remorse for his crime, later took a taxi with his brother to a local McDonald’s for a bite to eat. To avoid receiving prosecution for the murder, he left the country on a flight to Pakistan the following day.
However, his brother, Haseeb mirza was unable to escape. He was found guilty of murder following an intensive trial three weeks after the incident. He has been sentenced to a minimum of 21 years without parole.
Judge Kristina Montgomery QC of the court said: “Malik Hussain was a father of three children and they like his widow and close family are utterly devastated by his loss.
Addressing Haseeb, she continued: “You and he were a mobile drug dealing team. There were no secrets between you.
“I am sure you knew he was prepared to use that knife. Having heard the evidence, I am sure the violence erupted spontaneously as a result of the disagreements in the car.
“Even when he was lying fatally injured you stamped on his upper body
“It was utterly merciless.”
Passersby on the busy road Malik was thrown onto attempted to help the unfortunate victim. However, nothing could be done to help. A post-mortem examination confirmed he had sadly passed away as a result of the four stab wounds.
