VOLKSWAGEN COMMERCIAL VEHICLES ENGINEERS ANOTHER DEAL WITH UNITED PLANT SERVICES

United Plant provides leading asset management and engineering services to heavy mobile equipment (HME) across the quarry and waste industry.  With national coverage across the UK, the company has offices in both Cumbernauld, Scotland and Cannock, Staffordshire.

Following a successful initiation process, after ordering 28 vans in 2018 including Crafter, Transporter and Caddy vans, United Plant ordered another four Crafter panel vans in 2019 from Volkswagen Van Centre Baillieston.

All of the vans were converted with bespoke solutions to meet their needs, including racking, livery and safety features.

The internal racking conversion were completed by Bott Ltd, which also featured prominent livery and security features.

In-line with leading the way on safety solutions; 360-degree live CCTV recording, LED warning light systems and a cycle turning warning alert were fitted by Spillard Safety Systems Ltd.

Greg Mulhearn, Managing Director of United Plant commented: “I have been extremely impressed with the standard of our Volkswagen vans.  It was vital that we could have significant input into the specification of the vans to ensure that they met our specific needs. The safety record along with reliability and flexible servicing options were also key reason for us choosing Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.”

As part of its ‘Working With You’ brand promise, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has a fleet of Mobile Service Clinics, each having a fully equipped Crafter that is able to bring the service centre to the customer’s doorstep, whilst minimising downtime. United Plant offers onsite engineering coverage to customers across the UK so it is vital that its vans are operational.

Claire English, Head of Fleet for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles commented: “We are delighted that United Plant has been so pleased with its fleet of vans. We pride ourselves on our comprehensive aftersales package as well as flexible servicing to ensure our customers experience as little downtime as possible. We look forward to working closely with United Plant into 2020 and beyond.”
